Fugitive

This evening, on the way home from work...

...I evaded capture!

See, I'm coming around the 240 loop, heading south from Poplar, and I come around the turn right before the Nonconnah exit doing an easy 70, 75 or so. I'm in a pack of cars all doing the same speed.

So this Memphis cop is sitting on the inside shoulder, radar gun pointed at us. As soon as I see him he's in his car, lights on, and I'm all "motherfucker, I'm about to get a ticket."

But! But then, I see in my rearview that someone swerves onto the shoulder directly in front of the cop. The cop hops out of his car, yelling and swinging his arms in the air and giving off a general "what the hell do you think you're doing, possum breath?" kind of vibe.

I immediately (but safely, I assure you) scooted across several lanes of traffic and took the Perkins exit. Then I got down into the backstreets heading towards Getwell. And I called Sonya.

"Hey babe...I'm on the run, and I don't think they're going to catch me, but if I'm late or anything it's because the roadblock caught me and I'm in jail."

But I eventually made my way back to the interstate, and I was not arrested. Nothing better than hot, sweet adrenaline to start a weekend!

haha, wow, I was right in there with a blue explorer, that guy that swerved was my friend, amusing i found this. I remember seeing a car go to the right off the on-ramp. the cop drove out and look confused, going into the left then right. he took the exit you took but about 10 seconds later,
