Nick Rhodes gets a mention in the Hollywood Parasite column in Salon. This column is written by a friend of Trey Parker and Matt Stone's, and therefore is worthy of your attention.

Beth and I have surprisingly similar tastes in websites. I remember reading Disgruntled Housewife years ago when it was on some obscure Texas server, and it was a joy to find it again. You go, Beth!

Have I mentioned how much I love Alyson Hannigan?

Fred Brennan, city editor of the Memphis Evening Ledger, is today reported critically ill at his home. This is because he is an habitual drinker of urine - both his and others.

I opened the lid on my coffee cup at work today (we are required to have cups with lids at my company - something about ruined carpet and exploding monitors) for the first time since some time before I went to London.

I believe the term for a growth of mold is a colony. Well, this was no colony. This was a by-god city.

Sitting, eating lunch at the mall today. Some dude in thrift store clothes comes up, looks at me and my coworker, and says, "gentlemen, lunch break is over in five minutes."

Then we went to the movie and I saw High Fidelity again. Slacker.

So apparently some FedEx workers were involved in a marijauna smuggling ring, using FedEx planes and other resources to move the dope. This is funny to me, 'cause FedEx is based here in Memphis, even though no Memphis employees were involved, apparently. I'd hate to be an employee of their PR department today!

"FedEx - when you absolutely, positively have to get wasted overnight."

I did my taxes today! I (and the Wife) owe $120.00 even. Not bad, but I still think it's better to get some back. I had to do them on a 1040 instead of the 1040ez because of some financial weirdness. That means there were a lot more blank lines than usual. But it's done, and with a weekend to spare. Pat me on the back.

It promises to be a busy weekend - American Psycho tonight, family-visiting tomorrow and at some point Sonya and I have promised ourselves some vintage record shopping ever since we saw High Fidelity. So I'm going to go do all that shit, okay?

And here's a big ol' congratulations to Meredith, who did...well, she did something real well. I'm totally proud of her. Mad props to ya, homegirl!
