Steve Jobs I Love You!

For the first time, through the magic of technology, I bring you my lovely musings from the comfort of my own home.

Yup, me and Sonya finally broke down and bought a computer. A big one. A fire-breathing yet sweet-natured G3 - the finest computer on the planet. I am so pleased.

But good lord, it was expensive! I've purchased cars that cost more, but that's about it. Apparently, though, they don't like to give these things away.

Just to bring you up to date, we're still broke - though both Sonya and I get paid tomorrow. I'm actually going to get to eat lunch!

So you're saying to yourself, "how can they be broke and buy an expensive computer?"

It's called credit, bub. People who know how to handle their money are allowed to have some. You wouldn't know anything about that, would you?

Me and Sonya and James and Jen went to the Loony Bin last night. The Loony Bin is Memphis' token comedy club. I really didn't plan on having a good time - we made jokes about lame open-mike comics on the way there. When we got there and found out that - hooray! - it was open-mike night I was mightily amused.

But the joke - all of the jokes, actually - were on me. The comics were very funny, and the guys they actually paid to come in and do their acts were a scream. The service was horrible and it was a touch on the warm side, but I've been to a new bar and that counts for a lot, right? You really can't go to too many.

Plans for the weekend? They're still hazy at the moment. There's a possible swanky dinner thing happening tomorrow night, so that could be fun. As for the rest of the weekend...well, hell! I've got a new computer and a dirty house. There's lots to do!
