Popeye's

Wow. 90210 has really become a sad, grotesque parody of itself, hasn't it?

You know what I want to eat? An order of red beans and rice and some spicy fries from Popeye's. Man, that would be good.

So, for the first time in a year and a half, I made the morning commute from Downtown to the Far East of Memphis. It wasn't bad. The great mass of traffic is going the other way, you know, coming from the suburbs to work in town. I scooted down Poplar to Parkway, cut down Parkway to Broad and took Broad until it turns into Sam Cooper and leads into the heart of East Memphis. Fast and easy - a thirty minute trip.

And the Eclipse, I might add, is an utter pleasure to drive. Smooth and responsive, buddy. It's a world away from my clumsy little truck.

Though the front end is very low. The front bumper is maybe six or seven inches off the ground. I came up on a dip in the road on my way to lunch today and the whole car shuddered and bounced and made a horrible scraping noise. No new damage, though. The bottom of the bumper is a bit scraped, true, but it was already like that.

I think the new job will be fine. The people I'll be working with are nice, and smart, and most of them are my age. They're very tech-y, though, and they seem to be far more computer-people-ish than I am. Several times they were talking computer stuff and I'd just have to smile and nod. But I like them.
