purchasing some property Early this evening I got one step closer to a major change in my life. The counteroffer that I had made on a three bedroom condo was accepted and I could not be more pleased. Not only was I able to get a lower price, the seller also agreed to pay the condo fee for a year. The only way that I knew that the second part would be possible was that I had been told a previous buyer had the fee waived for a year. Now I need to sell my place as soon as I can. When I do manage to sell my current place, I will be leaving behind a two bedroom condo with a one car garage for a three bedroom condo with two bathrooms and a two car garage. Plus the new place was just built last year whereas my current place of residence was built sixteen years ago. It will be a nice upgrade. ... For reasons that I can not explain, I have taken a sudden interest in Star Wars. Wait. I need to clarify that last bit. I am interested in the Star Wars stories told outside of the movies. So when I made a stop at the local comic book shop this morning, I checked out the latest Star Wars comic books being offered by Dark Horse Comics. They have had the contract from Lucas for a number of years, but I have never looked that closely at the books. From what I can remember, there were three ongoing titles for me to consider reading. Eventually I walked away with issue three of Star Wars : Dark Times and I think that I made a good choice. The story takes place after the events seen in The Revenge of the Sith. So that means there is no Luke Skywalker or Han Solo. Darth Vader and the Emperor appear, but only briefly. The story is not about them. Instead the focus is on another Jedi master and a friend of his. The story was good, but I must confess that it was the wonderful art of Douglas Wheatley that really sold the book for me. |
